According to Li, once when he was a child, the Chinese national Wushu team made a presentation for President Richard Nixon in the United States, Nixon asked him to be his personal bodyguard. Li replied, “I do not wish to protect any individual person. When I grow up, I want to defend my 1 billion Chinese compatriots! ”, Something that filled him with a lot of respect in his homeland.

Li is a master of various styles of wushu, especially Changquan (Northern Longfist style) and Fanziquan (Tumbling fist). He has also studied other arts including Baguazhang (Eight Trigram Palm), Taijiquan (Ultimate Supreme Fist), Xingyiquan, Zuiquan (Drunken fist), Yingzhaoquan (Eagle Claw Fist), and Tanglangquan (Praying Mantis Fist). He did not learn Nanquan (southern fist), as his training focused only on Northern Shaolin styles. He has also studied some of the main weapons of wushu, such as Sanjiegun Gun (staff), Dao (Broadsword), Jian (straight sword), and many more.

The shots of his fights on stage must be edited due to the speed of his movements and the speed of his blows.
