Scott Adkins
was born on June 17, 1976, in Sutton Coldfield , England . His parents John and Janet Adkins raised him in a middle-class family environment. Scott was not a very good student at school, but he excelled at whatever physical activity he did. He was an athlete by nature. Since he was a child he was a fan of martial cinema, and idolized Bruce Lee , Jackie Chan and Jet Li .
At thirteen he convinced his father to sign him up at a gym where they taught Judo . Scott quickly adapted to art, becoming one of the best students in the class. But at the age of 13, due to a robbery that he suffered near the school, Scott decided that Judo was not enough to know how to defend himself; In addition, Scott's curiosity within the martial world was very great, so at the age of 15 he began to train Taekwondo under the tutelage of Ron Sergiew. His fascination for martial arts led him to convert his home garage into an academy where he trained every day after training in the gym.
At the age of 19, attracted by contact sports, he ventured into kick boxing with instructor Anthony Jones. Currently, Adkins is a prominent PKA Kickboxing instructor. But Adkins' knowledge did not stop at Judo , Taekwondo and Kick boxing; He began to train the sports side of the martial arts of China or Wushu , a discipline in which he excelled very quickly and in which he demonstrated his abilities, and later he trained in Jiu-jitsu to which he adapted without difficulties.
Scott Adkins currently holds black belts in Judo (2nd Dan), Taekwondo (4th Dan), Kickboxing (instructor, 2nd Dan), Wushu (3rd Dan) and Jiu-jitsu (1st Dan). In addition to training martial arts , Adkins supplemented his training with weights and Olympic gymnastics , developing a great extraordinary acrobatic capacity due to the combination of Olympic gymnastics and Wushu, which can be seen in films such as Ninja and Undisputed III: The Redemption, where he combines incredible stunts to his fighting style and adapts it, which he achieves successfully and without using ropes during filming or special effects in editing, and without using stuntmen.
