Zach King
(Portland, Oregon; February 4, 1990) is an American Vine star, 2 filmmaker, and YouTube personality based in Los Angeles. He is best known for his "magical vines" - six second videos digitally edited to look like he's doing magic.4 He calls his videos "digital game with his hands." He started uploading videos to YouTube in 2008 and in 2013 he started uploading videos to Vine.
King won the Hewlett-Packard business competition in 2010, and landed a trip to the red carpet at the London Film Festival.6 In 2013, he won YouTube's NextUp Creators contest.
King and his wife Rachel Holm competed on season 28 of the American reality game The Amazing Race. They were eliminated during the ninth stage of the race to be placed sixth in the overall standings.
King was born in Portland, Oregon. He is half Chinese on his paternal side, a quarter Austrian and a quarter of Nicaraguan descent on his mother's side. He made his first video when he was 7 years old, occupying a home camcorder. When he was 14 years old, he bought a Mac computer, a camera and a tripod and began making and editing videos. He graduated from Biola University in 2012.
Race
King started his website, FinalCutKing.com in 2008, to offer training and advice on how to use Final Cut Pro editing software14 as he was unable to find tutorials for the software on the Internet. At the same time, he started using his YouTube channel to give visual effects tutorials using the software. After gaining an audience for his website, he began selling training seminars and used the money to pay for his college. He participated as a contestant in one episode from "Viral Video Showdown" which aired on Syfy in 2012.

In 2011, he recorded a video titled Jedi Kittens on YouTube that he produced with a friend from college. The video showed two kittens fighting with lightsabers. The video gained more than a million views in three days13 and reached more than 14 million views. In September of the same year, he released a sequel titled Jedi Kettins Strike Back, gaining more than 17 million views.The last part of the video, called Jedi Kittens with Force, was uploaded in 2014. Zach King's official YouTube channel is FinalCutKing.
He was named by YouTube as one of America's 25 Most Promising Young Filmmakers in May 2013. As part of the Next Up Creators contest, YouTube awarded King $ 35,000, as well as a trip to New York City to spend four days at YouTube Creator Camp. His submission to the contest was titled Contest Entry Gone Wrong. In the video, he appeared to dodge an assault of airstrikes and ground fire as stated in his case being selected for the YouTube award.
